Notepad

Take notes on-device

#utility#notes#text

What it does

Simple

Sometimes while you're exploring you want to jot down a frequency or a quick note. Notepad lets you type and save little text notes right on the device, so you don't need a separate notebook or your phone.

It keeps your discoveries and reminders in one place, right next to the radio work you're doing.

How it works

Simple

You type text with the on-screen keys and the app saves it as a text file on the memory card. Open it again any time to read or add to your notes.

How to use it, step by step

Simple
  1. Open 'Notepad'.
  2. Type your note.
  3. Save it to the card.
  4. Open it again later to read or add more.

Examples

Field log

Note the frequencies and times of interesting signals during a survey.

Cheat sheet

Keep a list of local channels and settings handy for quick reference.

To-do list

Jot reminders of signals to investigate on your next session.

Tips & things to try

  • Plain-text files open on any computer later — great for writing up a proper log.
  • Pair it with the Frequency Manager: numbers in one, context in the other.
  • It keeps your whole workflow on one device, no phone needed.
