What's new in Mayhem
The Mayhem team keeps improving the firmware almost every day — these fresh builds are called 'nightlies'. They add new apps, fix bugs, and support new hardware. Here's what's new lately and how to update your device.
Recent highlights
SimpleHackRF Pro support
The firmware now works with the newer, more powerful HackRF Pro board too.
New apps: Signal Hunter & VOR
Brand-new July builds add a 'Signal Hunter' to help locate signals, plus airband VOR navigation receive and transmit.
Search your apps
With so many apps now, you can search for one right from the menu instead of scrolling.
Waterfall Designer + ADS-B trails
You can design your own waterfall colors, and aircraft now leave colored trails showing their height.
TX safety limiter
A safety feature that helps stop you accidentally transmitting where you shouldn't.
Apps live on the SD card
Because there are so many apps now, many live on the memory card instead of inside the firmware.
How to update
Simple- On the device, check your current version under Settings → About.
- On a computer, download the newest build's firmware file from the Mayhem releases page.
- Also download the matching 'COPY TO SD CARD' files and copy them onto your SD card.
- Flash the firmware following the official update guide, then restart.
