Representative synthesized example
What it does
SimpleThis is the sending side of SSTV: pick a picture and it turns it into the warbling tones that other people's SSTV apps can turn back into your picture. With a ham licence it's a fun way to send images across town or further.
How it works
SimpleEach dot's brightness/colour becomes a tone; the app plays the tones in order so a receiver can rebuild your picture.
How to use it, step by step
Simple- Get a ham licence or use a dummy load.
- Put an image on the card.
- Open 'SSTV TX' and pick it.
- Send it and decode on another device.
Examples
Image loopback
Send a picture and decode it on a second device to check the mode.
Club exchange
Swap SSTV images with other licensed hams on a local repeater.
Tips & things to try
- Both ends must use the same mode — the VIS header handles that automatically.
- Simple, high-contrast images survive noise best.
