FPV Detect
Detect FPV drone video
#receive#drone#fpv#5.8ghz#detector
What it does
SimpleRacing and hobby drones with a live camera send their video on 5.8 GHz. This app can detect that a drone's video transmitter is active nearby — handy for spotting drones by their radio signature rather than by sight.
How it works
SimpleA drone's video signal has a distinctive shape on the airwaves. The app watches the drone bands and lights up when it sees that shape.
How to use it, step by step
Simple- Open 'FPV Detect'.
- Let it watch the drone bands.
- It alerts when an FPV drone is transmitting.
Examples
Spot the drone
Detect a racing drone's VTX before you can even see the aircraft.
Field survey
At a flying field, see how many FPV channels are active at once.
Tips & things to try
- It targets analog FPV; digital HD systems look different on the spectrum.
- A 5.8 GHz antenna is needed for good sensitivity at those frequencies.
