What it does
SimpleThis turns the device into a tiny radio station using the built-in microphone. Whatever the mic hears can be sent out as a radio wave, and another radio nearby can pick it up and play it. It's the mirror image of the Audio receiver: instead of catching sound from the air, it puts your sound into the air.
A fun and simple use is to speak into it and hear yourself on a second radio a few metres away — an instant demonstration of how a broadcast works.
How it works
SimpleFor FM, the app takes your voice and uses it to gently speed up and slow down the radio wave's shaking; a receiver turns those speed changes back into your voice. For AM, your voice makes the wave bigger and smaller instead. Either way, the pattern of your voice gets 'painted' onto the carrier wave.
How to use it, step by step
Simple- Pick a channel that's okay to use where you are.
- Open the 'Audio TX' app.
- Choose the modulation (FM is common).
- Talk into the microphone.
- Listen on a second radio to hear yourself.
Examples
Transmit a steady test tone into a dummy load to confirm your other receiver decodes it cleanly.
Speak into the mic and listen on a second radio a few metres away to see the broadcast chain end to end.
Send the same audio in AM and FM and compare how each sounds on the receiver.
Tips & things to try
- Very low output power means range is short — antenna and matching matter more than anything.
- Overdriving the mic input causes distortion; keep the input level moderate.
- It's the transmit twin of the Audio receiver — set the same frequency/modulation on both ends to test a full link.
